Hello Bastyr community,

As we move into Spring break, I would like to update you on what to expect when returning to campus on April 4th, 2022.

  • Starting April 4th – surgical masks (rather than N95/KN95) may be worn in classrooms, labs, and shared spaces. IMPORTANT: N95/KN95s must still be worn in clinic spaces.
  • Starting April 4th – those with an accommodation (exemption) must continue to test weekly but will no longer be required to fill out a weekly attestation. Students/employees with accommodations must be prepared to submit test results upon request.

**In the event state/federal mask guidelines change, Bastyr will re-evaluate our masking guidelines

We will continue to have COVID-19 testing available for all three sites in April. Please be on the lookout for an email from the COVID Policy Team with days/times for your location.

As you have done so over the past several months, please continue to be respectful of one another’s mask choice. While some may feel comfortable transitioning to a surgical mask, others may not be at the same point. The University has a zero-tolerance policy in this area and will enforce the associated student and employee policies.

I know many of us are exhausted with the presence of COVID, but I want you to know that I appreciate all you do to keep our community safe and can't wait to see everyone on April 4th.

Stay well,
